By attending your SafePod Network booking you agree to comply with the full terms and conditions as detailed below.
AGREEMENTS
IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
You must bring either a valid passport (a passport book or passport card) or driving licence as identification for your booking. Copies are not acceptable. If you do not bring valid identification then access to the SPN Service will be refused.
ARRIVAL PROCEDURES
Arrive in good time for your booking. If you are going to be late please contact your Coordinator. If you dont contact them and arrive more than 15 minutes late, then your Coordinator can decide to cancel the booking. If you do contact your Coordinator ahead of the booking to advise you are going to be late, then you have 30 minutes to arrive before the booking can be cancelled.
If this is our first time using a SPN Service you will be provided with an induction by a Coordinator.
BLUETOOTH LOW EMISSION TAG
SafePoints use a Bluetooth Low Emission (BLE) Tag as part of its security controls. The tag will be issued and must be worn by you throughout your booking. The purpose of the tag is to protect the information on the monitor displays by automatically switching them off when the tag is out of proximity of the desk. The monitors will automatically turn on when the tag is back in proximity of the desk.
The tag may emit a low level of electromagnetic interference. Although there are no known cases of interference being caused specifically by classic Bluetooth or BLE, people fitted with an ICD or pacemaker are required to be made aware of the use of this technology so in the unlikely event they experience symptoms which they attribute to the malfunction of their implant they can exercise caution and move the tag further away from their implant. For context, the BLE Tag emits a small fraction of the EMI emitted by a smartphone.
LOG IN CREDENTIALS VALIDITY
Before attending the SPN Service for this booking, you are advised to check with the relevant Data Centre that your log in credentials to access your project will be valid.
LOG IN CREDENTIALS AIDE MEMOIRE
Remember your credentials and any devices needed to log in to access your project. These will have been advised to you by the Data Centre. It is strongly recommended that you bring an aide memoire with you for your credentials. This must be stored in the SPN Service Locker as detailed below.
If it will be difficult for you to remember your log in credentials, then you should contact the Data Centre and follow their procedures to change the credentials to something memorable, recommended to be three random words. Once the credentials have been changed you can write these down and store inside the SPN Service Locker on arrival.
SPN SERVICE LOCKER
For SafePod: A locker is provided on the outside to store your possessions. To open the locker, enter the code provided and turn the handle on the door to the right until you hear a click. To lock the locker push the door back in place. Check that the door is locked.
For SafePoint: A locker is provided at the SafePoint Desk. Enter the code provided by a Coordinator to unlock. To lock close the door and the lock will engage.
PERSONAL POSSESSIONS
The following personal possessions are permitted to be taken into a SPN Service: purse, wallet, keys and identification documents.
SPN SERVICE TEMPERATURE
Some SPN Services can get hot inside, particularly during the summer. Please be mindful of this and remember to take regular breaks and adequate cool water. For further advice on temperature inside a SPN Service contact your Coordinator.
TWO MONITORS (SAFEPOD)
SafePod haS two monitors to assist researchers with using programmes, software and analysis. Note that if you suspend your session with a Data Centre, open the SafePod door or move away from a SafePoint, then the second monitor may de-activate. Where this occurs, to re-activate the second monitor you will need to completely log out of your session and then log back in again.
ACCESSIBILITY AND OTHER BOOKING REQUIREMENTS
Any accessibility requirements or other booking requirements can be requested at the time of a booking or contact a Coordinator for your booking.
