Directions

Walter Bower House is on the University’s Eden Campus, four miles west of St Andrews in the village of Guardbridge. If you are travelling by train, Eden Campus is one mile from Leuchars Rail Station. The Stagecoach 99 bus runs frequently from St Andrews towards Dundee, or from Leuchars Station towards St Andrews.

Fire Alarm Information

A SafePod Coordinator will explain the fire safety procedures with you as part of your induction. In the event of a fire, please leave the building following the green directional signs to the nearest exit. If you are unable to use the stairs, please head to the nearest stairwell safety refuge point.

Access Policy

On arrival please go to the reception at Walter Bower House and advise that you are there to use the SafePod.

Accessibility

There are disabled parking bays available at Walter Bower House. If you are a member of staff, you must display a valid University of St Andrews parking permit. Visitor parking must be booked in advance. Please contact us to do this.

The SafePod is located up one flight of stairs, there is a lift available. Please be aware that our lift cannot be used in the event of a fire. Each stairwell is a safety refuge point, with communications to reception. There are toilets and hot and cold water facilities nearby. These will be shown to you as part of your induction.

There is no lone working policy. Use of this SafePod is unsupervised.
